The Hancock Building is an angular and sturdy building. A building worthy of the city of broad shoulders. Upon completion, in 1969 it was the second tallest building in the world. It also boasts the third highest residence in the world behind Burj Khalifa in Dubai and fellow Chicago skyscraper, The Trump Tower. The elevators to the observation deck are said to be the fastest in North America, reaching the 95th in 38 seconds. They have a top speed of 20 mph. That is quite slow when you compare it to the peregrine falcon circling outside.
Fog lifting from the city’s heights. Sunset illuminated across blocks of skyscrapers. The delicate line where the city meets the sea. Breathtakingly captured through aerial photography. Our cityscapes allow the viewer to see the city in a new light.
